café cree in Newton Stewart, south-west Scotland, is no ordinary café. Within four months of being opened by Jan and Chris Cole in 2006, café cree was nominated as the best eating place in Dumfries and Galloway in the Savour the Flavour Awards.

café cree went on to be named in the Scottish top five of the Gary Rhodes UKTV Food Local Food Hero Awards in 2008. Food served in café cree is sourced within 20 miles of the café, in Newton Stewart’s Victoria Street. The bread is hand-baked in nearby Creetown, the smoked salmon is locally caught and the meat is sourced from an award-winning butcher just a few doors away. Even the ice cream is locally produced. We are highly recommended on Trip Advisor.
