GALLOWAY FARMHOUSE CHEESE Galloway Farmhouse Cheese and the farm shop Ewe to You are run by
Ted and Helen Brown who have built up a reputation for creating fine ewe’s milk Cairnsmore hard cheese
at their farm, Millairies, near Sorbie.
Goat’s
cheese was introduced in 2005 and has become very popular with some of Scotland’s finest hotels, restaurants and delicatessens
and was declared “most innovative product” at the Savour the Flavours of Dumfries and Galloway Food Awards.
On a recent visit to the farm, Ted was telling us that the goat’s
cheese had won reserve champion at the Royal Highland Show. Well done, Helen and Ted – it’s always a pleasure
to collect cheeses from your farm.
WIGWAM BAKERY This is a small community project using organic stone-ground and organic unbleached flours, cold-pressed
oils, sea salt, organic honey and fresh yeast in all their bread products. Additions of organic seeds and nuts and fresh,
locally-grown herbs mean that the flavour is exceptional.
Everything
is hand-made using their own original recipes, alchemy and love! We adore the Wigwam company slogan which is “Live simply,
so that others can simply live”.
What a fantastic ethos.
